Understanding Custom/Personalized Items Lead Times
Modified on: Mon, Feb 28, 2022 at 12:35 PM
Custom and made-to-order items may take longer to ship than products that are stored in our warehouses. The time it takes to create custom products can range from a few days to upwards of a month before they're ready to ship.
Unless otherwise indicated on the product page, custom items do not have expedited processing or shipping options available. This is because the lead time posted for the product is the fastest the Partner can produce your item.
Lead times for custom items will be indicated in the following areas:
- On the product page: production timeline will be featured just below the "Overview", "Details", "Materials & Care", and "Share" selections.
- During the checkout process: in the "Shipping Methods" section, the estimated delivery time will account for production time as well as shipping times.
- In your order confirmation: in the confirmation email sent, lead times will be included under the "Items" section, along with any other special product notes or restrictions.
Some custom products require your approval of a proof image before the item is made. These products will ask for your email address on the product page, that way the Partner can send you the image before creating your custom product.
It's extremely important to watch out for the proof emails! Failure to respond to those will result in delayed production, delayed shipping times, and/or cancellation of your order.
